Sexual categories[edit]

I propose we remove both Category:Prostitution & Category:Pedophilia from this image, it seems like an assumption that this image is about these topics. To me it just looks like commentary like how young black girls were treated like animals and not clothed when brought over and they were trying to get people to empathize with how outrageous it was by depicting how it looks with a girl of the caucasian colour instead.

I did look up the author attributed, Wikipedia:Abastenia St. Leger Eberle, it explains "The sculpture represented child prostitution, which at the time was euphemistically called white slavery." I would like to verify that this is a correct interpretation of the piece though. The reference provided for this statement is Susan Casteras, Abastenia St. Leger Eberle's White Slave.", Woman's Art Journal (Spring/Summer 1986) pp. 32-36. I guess only people who own this book are able to verify if the information is correct, then? This is one aspect of referencing that has always been frustrating. The Bartleby URL seems to be useless as when I click it just redirects to the homepage. TY© (talk) 15:18, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
