Hello to Wikimedia Commons members.

I am here to try to convince members of the community that this is not the shell of Tibia insulaechorab Röding, 1798[1] (the Arabian tibia) but that this shell belongs to Tibia curta (GB Sowerby II, 1842)[2] (the Indian tibia).

In the latter species mentioned, the siphonal channel is generally straighter and the opening is less expanded and more discontinuous than in Tibia insulaechorab (look here).

In Tibia insulaechorab the outer lip of the opening of the shell is more continuously circular and expanded (look here).

Don't mind the fact that the World Register of Marine Species itself is making the same mistake as Wikimedia Commons. The English Wikipedia article itself has already realized the mistake and inserted the photo correctly in his article of Tibia curta.

If there are still doubts, I inserted this photograph on the Facebook page called Stromboidea and had a discussion with a scientist, who is preparing to launch a book about this superfamily. He is also convinced that it is Tibia curta. The discussion was today. Mário NET (talk) 16:07, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
