Speedy deletion

Keep. I don't understand the speedy deletion nomination for this file. When it was originally uploaded by Cmedinger in 2008, he asserted that he took it (self taken image http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/cmedinger37/DSC01620.jpg cc-by). The speedy deletion proposal suggests that it has been copied from somewhere else, but doesn't state where. I can't find it using Tineye. It doesn't seem like a credible challenge. [1] there is no evidence that en:User:Cmedinger is cmedinger37 nor does the image page state anywhere that the image is under {{Cc-by}}. The uploader should add a message on the photobucket image page as cmedinger37 confirming identity and releasing under cc-by license--IngerAlHaosului (talk) 17:41, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

this is by far my image there seams to be an edited version also uploaded which is better than my version but that would be copyright infringement --Cmedinger (talk) 04:09, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

If you mean the version that I altered the colour balance/brightness/contrast on, it isn't a copyright violation, as the license you used was "Creative Commons Attribution 1.0". Which allows editing as long as the original is credited, which you are. Hohum 18:52, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

he is correct cc-by allows editing as long as the authors are credited it doesn't even require the same license be used, I can add my one little edit and as long as i credit the 2 of you i can release my version under any license i want, that is why it is called a permissive license. Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike cc-by-sa and Creative Commons Share Alike cc-sa are copyleft and require the license be maintained as is for any derivative work, and any Creative Commons license with No Derivatives and/or Non-Commercial are NON-FREE.--IngerAlHaosului (talk) 19:06, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
