September 2006[edit]

Hi

Wikipedia is a much respected source of information that is used around the world. However the computer and video games information you reflect regarding products, developers and publishers has a decidedly US slant to it. Also it has a slightly modern slant to it. I (ex director of Sensible Software) have been involved in computer games design for the last 20 years and have designed 10 number one games in the UK and many other countries in europe in this time. But as these games have not registerd on the US radar I am not considered a Notable games designer in your list. Likewise we have some other extremely successful european designers heading up the design departments in UK publishers such as Eric Matthews (formerly Bitmap Brothers) at Sony Europe and Ian Livingstone (formerly games workshop) at Eidos. As well as several other prominent designers both old and new, with repeated success under their belts over the course of time and several notable and highty influencial european based games to boot that shaped games development both here and in the rest of the world. All of these deserve more recognition from you as a source of information to the world yet currently Peter Molyneux is the only UK designer on your notable designer list, and there are also a number of prominent Japanese names missing, although I know less about them.

I would be very happy to supply you with information regarding UK and european software industry if this is of interest to you.

Please let me know

Kind Regards

What a weird place to find this comment... You know you're on Commons not a Wikipedia, you're commenting on some random (but appropriate) image's talk page that know will ever read. If you think Wikipedia (en:, I guess) is missing some important stuff, don't ask for it, just go over there and start writing.
