What is the argument for declaring this stamp a counterfeit? It looks like the 1861 'thick' issue (Michel 16). Jacquesverlaeken (talk) 12:42, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are many indications, the most important ones, taken from the Serrane guide page 357:
  • The center circle is right in the middle of the rectangle or shifted to the right while originals do not have the center circle in the middle of the rectangle, it is moved to the left and slightly lower
  • No accent on second E of Centesimos
  • The word CORREO on the right is as wide as the one on the left
  • Measurements and shades are arbitrary
  • The image of the head differs from original
  • Thick yellowish paper

Most probably this is Serrane type G: Geneva forgery, lightface figures, carmine, but with large figures.Arno-nl (talk) 18:54, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
