Projection[edit]

It is not Mercator projection. This is Mercator projection. Hellerick (talk) 08:57, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think this might be a Miller projection.. --77.12.242.81 19:04, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The file is based on File:BlankMap-FlatWorld6.svg – which is “flattened Robinson projection” as the description there says. So I would not recommend this as a “Graphic Tool” and removed the related category. For this issue see also the older discussion at File talk:BlankMap-FlatWorld6.svg and File_talk:BlankMap-World6.svg#Notice. -- Mapmarks (talk) 01:30, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

South Sudan[edit]

Version without Antarctica[edit]

Could someone create a version without Antarctica? For many purposes, such as sports maps, the Antarctica is just a waste of space and distraction. For example, see File:Members of the International Floorball Federation.svg. Thanks in advance! --Prikryl (talk) 08:14, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have found that some maps by Allice Hunter, which are based on this one, are trimmed the way I like. For example File:Map of the Arab Diaspora in the World.svg. It would be nice to have a blank version of those available for reuse. Prikryl (talk) 13:00, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Prikryl There is this BlankMap-World-NoAntarctica, not so detailed. --please ping me-- Goran tek-en (talk) 13:04, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Prikryl: and @Goran tek-en: I've already created this one: File:World map (Miller cylindrical projection, blank without Antarctica).svg. − Allice Hunter (Inbox) 16:08, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Allice Hunter: and @Goran tek-en: Thanks!
