Description

President of Georgia Starts the Pepsi Bottling Plant

On May 25th, President Mikheil Saakashvili symbollically started bottling Pepsi in Georgia by pushing the button to start the Pepsi bottling assembly line. Against a backdrop of Pepsi bottles snaking their way through the assembly process, the President congratulated Pepsi for opening its first plant in Georgia and vowed to make economic development his top priority. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Pepsi International, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and US Ambassador Richard Miles.
