Fragment de brèche d'impactite du cratère d'impact de Rochechouart (France). Suévite de Montoume Montoume est un lieu-dit situé assez près du centre de l'impact. Ce fragment montre une matrice présentant un faible taux de fusion, voir pas de fusion du tout. Elle est constituée de retombées vitreuses qui se sont solidifiées avant d'atteindre le sol, dans lesquelles se sont mélangés des morceaux du socle. La forte teneur en fer lui donne cette coloration rouge. |
