Fragment de pseudotachylite du cratère d'impact de Rochechouart (France). Pseudotachylite (Chapagnac) Les pseudotachylites sont formées sous l'effet d'un choc extrêmement violent, d'un tremblement de terre, ou encore d'une explosion nucléaire. Les roches du terrain qui subit l'onde de choc se déplacent et l'effet combiné de la pression et de la friction fait fondre les matériaux des fragments en déplacement. Ces matériaux en fusion s'écoulent ensuite dans les anfractuosités de la roche. |
