In Hinduism, "Samudra manthan"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samudra_manthan) or "The churning of the milky ocean" is one of the most famous episodes in the Puranas. Vishnu in his second incarnation, in the form of a turtle Kurma, came to rescue, Shiva drank the poison to save the universe, the goddess Lakshmi appeard form the milky ozean. |
