English: The Kingdom of Mustang is a region of Nepal close to Tibetan border. The original Tibetan language and culture is still well preserved from the Chinese invasion. Even if from 1950 it has been a part of Nepal, the region (about 2,000 people) still retains some autonomy. The King (Raja) Jigme Dorje Palbar Bista lived in the capital Lo Manthang. He lived in Chabahil, Kathmandu where he died on December 16, 2016 at the age of 86. The landscape is almost desert at an average altitude of 3500 m.
