Bryan Calabro (b. November 13, 1990 in Scranton is an American multimedia designer with specialities in photography, communication design, corporate branding, social media marketing, and content creation.
Calabro is best known for his uncanny ability to shock people with his aggressively appealing personality, long sideburns and loving personality. His photography has been featured on mass e-commerce websites such as Fab.com, Facebook Gifts and Rue La La. His best known feature being that of a spicy sriracha chocolate bar called "The Devil Inside."
Calabro gets motivation from Saint Ignatius of Loyola quote Ite Inflammate Omnia ("Go forth and set the world on fire") and Nike's trademark Just do it.
Bryan Calabro was born on 13 November 1990 at CMC hospital in Scranton, Pennsylvania near Nay Aug Park, Scranton's largest park. He was the first of two children to Brian Calabro of Archbald and Julie Zinskie of Olyphant.
He grew up in a freshly built Cape Cod home in Olyphant, PA finished by his father four years prior.
Once settled, his days consisted of a typical suburban lifestyle; outdoor pool parties, smoky barbecues and kick the can with all the younger neighbors in the surrounding community. He was deathly afraid of water until his parents forced him to take swimming lessons at the local YMCA in Dunmore, PA. Calabro made it to the shark level and decided he had learned enough. He retired from swimming lessons at age 8 and joined the local Troop 21 Cub Scouting organization, which he left shortly after at age 10, but not before raising to the level of a webelo scout.
Calabro started schooling at the age of 6 at St. Clare school, a k-3 middle school, in the heart of Greenridge, PA. His favorite and most influential teacher there was Sister Mary William, his first grade teacher; a lover of handwriting and coloring in the lines. Both of which, Calabro struggled with at the time. There was only once incident where-in Calabro was sent to the principle and it involved him hitting a fellow student in the head really hard with a rubber kick ball to tag him out during a school yard game of kickball. Nevertheless, once the situation was explained, his principle understood and let him go back outside to play with the other kids.
After middle school, he got accepted into Scranton Preparatory School and began his high school career causing mischief and malarky on the school's in-house network. Three times he was kicked off school's network server for circumventing the website filter with an anonymous IP hoster called "mathcookbook" at the time.
Calabro's mother feared his obsession with digital devices and persistently tried to outwit his free flowing addiction to all things digital. She put aggressive forms of parental controls on all his devices to limit his ability to search the web and had software installed to limit his computer usage. Whether it was hacking, modifying permissions or stripping code, Calabro was way ahead of his mother. Nothing she did to his computer stopped him.
From his first clunky desktop computer afforded to him when he was 8, to his brushed aluminum MacBook Pro now, his persistence to excel, hack make the computer do what he wants is appreciated by bussinessses family members and all those afflicted with terrible computer skills.
His overall image inspiration comes from Poe's raw and hard-hitting pessimism, Dali's unrivaled abstraction, and Max Miedinger’s simple elegant Swiss font Helvetica. His style is clean, aggressive and modern. He focuses on promoting a positive visual relationship between companies and consumers with a highly specialized use of white space and clutter free design.
Calabro appreciates that he is a digital native and always wishes he could have been born farther into the future.
