Example 1: With or without parameter "qty"

Example 2: flags vs. bricks as parameter "entities"

renders with navigation:

Parent category

adds the SAME category Flags:

And {{Groups|Plants}}
adds NOT Plants but Plants by setting:
|
And more confusing: {{Groups|Plants|5}}
adds Plants by quantity:
Plants by quantity: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 - 14 - 16 - 21 - 29 - many

And how can we change the parent category? (e.g. {{groups|male organisms}}
in Category:Groups of male organisms generates Groups of organisms as parent cat. How can we change it to Groups of organisms by gender? Will there be a new parameter for it or a how-to-explanation on the doc-page? Thx and best Regards --W like wiki good to know 23:19, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
Test mode?
[edit]The demonstrations in the template documentation are currently placing {{Groups}} into a bunch of inappropriate categories, including Category:Flags, Category:7 people, Category:Groups of groups by size, etc. Can you please update the template such that its use in the documentation doesn't categorize the template itself? - Hi @Omphalographer: It was me who added the examples to make the complex template more understandable for users. Your point I think could be managed with
<includeonly></includeonly> or <noinclude></noinclude>, <onlyinclude></onlyinclude>
