English: The large tapestry of the Crucifixion is the first of three in the so-called "Antwerp Series" of the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo. The other two, smaller ones, displayed on pillars on the sides of the presbytery, represent an Immaculate and Moses taking off his shoes on Mount Horeb to enter the burning bush. They are of Flemish manufacture, about 1696-98, based on designs by Ludwig van Schoor, tapestry maker Joannes Reghelbrugghe.
