'Fawick Flyer automobiles were made in Sioux Falls, S.D., 1908-1912, by the Silent Sioux Mfg. Co. Most got Waukesha four cylinder engines, and a ingenious body hand crafted by the Charles Abresch Co. of Milwaukee, Wisc., to Fawick specification. Early models are known as Silent Sioux. A 1910 Fawick Flyer is mentioned as the first car with front doors in the USA. Designer Tom Fawick later worked on a tractor, sold his patent for rubber engine mounts to Chrysler, and founded the Fawick Corp., manufacturer of clutches.
