Descripción
English: Consistent to its mandate of developing, organizing, training, equipping and sustaining Artillery Units in providing timely and accurate fire support to Maneuver Units, the Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) conducted a three-day Live Fire Exercise (LFE) utilizing three (3) different types of Guns namely, 105mm Standard, 155mm Self-Propelled and 105mm Italian Pack Howitzers at AAR Firebases in Brgy Canantong, Laur and Brgy Dona Josefa, Palayan City, all of Nueva Ecija on November 22 to 24, 2022.

On the first day, 67 Personnel from different Offices of Headquarters Army Artillery Regiment (HAAR) undergoing 105mm Field Artillery Gunnery Proficiency Training (FAGPT) Classes 39 & 40-2022 performed Day and Night Live-Fire Exercise utilizing four (4) Units of 105mm (STD) Howitzer at AAR Firebase in Brgy Canantong, Laur, Nueva Ecija. The Live-Fire Exercise allows the HAAR Personnel who often have other duties to take care of the Unit to step out of their respective Offices and relearn, regain confidence in sighting targets, computing data and firing Artillery Pieces utilizing different types of Ammunitions.

On the second day, 45 Personnel from 3rd Self-Propelled Battery, 10th Field Artillery “Rolling Thunder” Battalion undergoing 155mm Self-Propelled FAGPT Class 03-2022 capped off the training with Artillery Live-Fire Exercise simulating autonomous and multiple round simultaneous impact (MRSI) firing of the newly acquired ATMOS 155mm Self-Propelled Howitzers. The Exercise provided opportunity to verify the operational performance of these game changer Assets and the combat capability of its Crews.

On the last day of LFE, ten (10) Personnel of IPH Platoon, Bravo Battery, 5th Field Artillery “Fast, Precise and Lethal” Battalion, prior to its deployment to Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) area, conducted registration firing of its two (2) newly issued Italian Pack Howitzers (IPH) at AAR Firebase in Brgy Dona Josefa, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija. The registration firing aims to determine necessary firing data adjustments on the newly issued IPH to achieve first-round fire for effect (FFE) capability.

Throughout the 3-day LFE, the Regiment was able to attain its objectives of sustaining proficiency of its personnel in performing artillery operations utilizing different types of guns from Towed to Self-Propelled and Pack Howitzers, and ensuring that all these guns are highly functional ready to respond to any threats to national security.
