Deutsch: Eines von sechs Bildern, die die ultraviolette Aurora borealis in Falschfarben während verschiedener Entwicklungsstadien zeigt, aufgenommen mit dem Far Ultraviolet (FUV) Wideband Imaging Camera (WIC) an Bord des Satelliten „IMAGE“ am 15. Juli 2000 um 14:53 Uhr UT über einem Nadir von 60,5° Nord, 215° Ost aus einer Entfernung von etwa 39500 Kilometer über Grund während eines großen geomagnetischen Sturmes, der am 15. und 16. Juli nach einem koronalen Masseauswurf der Sonne auftrat.
English: One of six images that show the ultraviolet northern aurora in false colour at various stages in its development as it was observed with the Far Ultraviolet (FUV) Wideband Imaging Camera (WIC) on board of the IMAGE satellite on July 15, 2000, 14:53 UT over a nadir point of 60.5° north, 215° east from a distance of approximately 39500 kilometres above ground during a major geomagnetic storm that occurred on July 15-16 after a coronal mass ejection.
