English: 060730-N-9851B-001 South China Sea (July 30, 2006) - Paratroopers from the 9th Royal Malay Regiment wait in the well deck of amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) to board a Landing Craft Air Cushion, were they will be transported for an amphibious assault as part of the Malaysia phase of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT). CARAT is an annual series of bilateral maritime training exercises between the United States and six Southeast Asia nations designed to build relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces.
