COLLECTIE TROPENMUSEUM Halmahera Pakata Tobelo (voorgrond) en rorehe TMnr 10010571.jpg |
Nederlands: Repronegatief. (P. Boomgaard, 2001). Halmahera, Pakata Tobelo (voorgrond) en rorehe
English: Repronegative. In addition to the larger types of vessels, such as the orem bay and the kora-kora, the Moluccas teemed with smaller types, suitable for fishing, trade along the coast, trade between closely spaced islands and, of course, the transport of small groups of people. These types of boats were often built in the Moluccas themselves. The simplest types consisted of hollowed-out tree trunks, while the somewhat larger types were built with planks. In many cases these boats have outriggers or outriggers, so that they were also referred to as outriggers. The extension beams at the front and rear of the boat, the stern beams, are often worked and have a special meaning. (P. Orchard, 2001). Halmahera, Pakata Tobelo (foreground) and rorehe |
