Descripción
Español: Fotografía en blanco y negro de José Figueres Ferrer y el padre Benjamín Nuñez durante la revolución del 48, en sus respectivos uniformes militares. Ambos se encuentran abrazados y sonriendo. José Figueres Ferrer y Benjamín Nuñez fueron dos líderes políticos, sociales y culturales de Costa Rica en el siglo XX. Ambos participaron activamente en la Guerra Civil de 1948 y en la fundación de la Segunda República. Figueres fue el caudillo del Ejército de Liberación Nacional y presidente de la Junta Fundadora de la Segunda República, así como presidente constitucional en tres ocasiones. Nuñez fue el capellán del Ejército de Liberación Nacional y ministro de Trabajo de la Junta Fundadora de la Segunda República, así como rector de la Universidad Nacional y diplomático ante las Naciones Unidas.
