Sam Effron, who took this picture commented that it was "disappointing but", which I removed, and left his historic value comment. I could not understand what was disappointing about it -- did he expected a grand American-type synagogue? I am an historian who studies Jewish history and antisemitism -- I was thrilled that a picture existed of a little synagogue in a very small Jewish community in Ethiopia.
