Incorrect dating of map[編集]

As stated on the description page, the map cannot be showing the network as it was in 1930 (assuming this map is a updated one).

  • First: The branchline to Farmington (built in 1905) is shown as standard gauge, but this branch was converted to narrow gauge in 1923.
  • Second: The railroad line through Alpine Tunnel (Nathrop - Pitkin) is still present, but the Alpine Tunnel were closed and abandoned in 1910.
  • Third: The lumber railroad from Lumberton to Edith (1895 - 1914) is shown, while the extension from Edith to Flaugh (1904 - 1911) is not.

My guess is that this map shows the network as it was around 1910-1911, and the file should be renamed to avoid confusion. Aldebaran (talk) 03:57, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[返信]

I'm in agreement that this map is from before 1930.
  • Library of Congress. Copyright Office, "Catalog of Copyright Entries. Part 1. B Group 2. Pamphlets, Etc. New Series," p 105, 1912. states: "Map of the Denver and Rio Grande system and the Western Pacific railway and connections Size 22 by 27i inches 2501 July 7 1911 2 c Jan 15 1912 F 22219 FA Wadleigh Denver" Note that the title of the copyright registration is the same as the title in this image.
  • The map does not show the Deep Creek Railroad, located on the Nevada/Utah border running south from Wendover. The Deep Creek Railroad was owned by the Western Pacific. Deep Creek was in operation from 1917 until 1939. If this map was from 1930, it would likely have shown the Deep Creek.
  • The map does not show the Tidewater Southern Railway, which was purchased by the Western Pacific in 1917 and operated until 1983.
  • The lower edge has "6-12'14", indicating 1912 or 1914?
