Hello @RCraig09: . Last time tiredness forced me to leave the discussion about this figure. The consensus on the en:climate change article was to represent a lot of information. The way to do this successfully (besides cutting down on information), is to make sure the non-data parts of the graph are inconspicuous. A few suggestions to improve this graph, in order of "I think it's important" to "please ignore me".

1. the rastering is quite distracting.
   1. It's in front of the bars, rather than behind them
   2. It's quite strong. I would make it 2-3x lighter gray
   3. It is different in places. I would strongly advice to have at least all the ten-year events in the same raster. (So drawing the raster until 10x for the first two categories). It may even be better to put them all in a raster 5-years apart.
2. I don't understand the (scare?) quotes around 10-year, better to remove them
3. I would remove the current pledges for a couple of reasons. 1) It's not updated after Glasgow (I think 2.4 is more like current pledges), 2a) it's a difficult concept (we strongly suspect that not all of those pledges, especially the conditional ones, will be kept). 2b) It's a different concept. A lot of people will not understand the difference between the bottom-up pledges and the Paris agreement goals of 1.5C/2C. The explanation of this comes later in the article. 3) It will require a lot of updating, let's make this a stable figure.
4. (From here onwards, feel free to ignore without comment) I suggest making the 1x, 5x all the same colour.
5. Maybe bigger title
6. Maybe drop the + in front of 1C (Okay, I know you disagree :P)
7. add {{Translation possible}} to the top of the description if the text is editable. That way, there will be a link to the SVG translation tool, allowing non-English Wikipedia to make a translation of the figure in 1 minute.

1. Mostly  完成. Gridlines changed from black 0.75px to gray 0.25 px. I still think gridlines for 2,3,4, and 6,7,8,9 help viewers to compare lengths of the bars.

3. Somewhat  完成 I made the "current pledges" text more enduring (stable). An editor at en.wp's Talk:Climate change argued for inclusion, and I tend to agree.

4.  未完成 I think "2x" "3x" etc should remain red because red designates warming. "1x" is black to designate stability.

5.  未完成 Wikimedia projects have font rendering problems that expand text widths unpredictably at different degrees of thumbnail upright=___ magnification. A bigger title would likely spill off the page at some magnifications.

6.  未完成 I kept "+1" etc. to emphasize increase.

Request to translate words into Chinese

Hello, @Icosohedral: Many sources say we are at 1.2 °C, not 1.1 °C. So, I changed "(+1.1 °C today)" to "(already exceeded)" in the English-language version. If you are interested, please reply here with the Chinese (zh) translation of "already exceeded". I will insert it into the file. (The SVG translator causes complex problems, so please don't use it.)
