What's with the picture?[編集]

I find it rather odd that this is the picture used officially (or as officially as Wikipedia can get) in pretty much all entries about Al-Farabi - and from there, of course, elsewhere on the web. The picture was added back in 2009, and sourced to a website that no longer even exists; having looked for it on the Wayback Machine, it turned out to be an old website dedicated to Uyghur music, with just a short paragraph about Al-Farabi (in regards to his connection to music). The picture itself is badly attributed; the description just says "Old picture" and "Unknown date". It looks like it has been cropped from something like a textbook (there are remnants of a caption below, and some text on the side) - perhaps the original source is some manuscript, but who knows. And since this is essentially a picture of a picture, it's pretty bad quality.
Perhaps it is time to retire it? There is a variety of other pictures online (there is even a pretty neat one here on Wiki Commons, of Al-Farabi as featured on a Kazakhi bank note), which I think would be better used instead. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 109.66.93.75 (talk) 13:27, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[返信]
