This is not the pyramid of Piye. This is tomb Ku 1. Piye was buried in tomb Ku 17, which in this view would be to the right of the pyramid, and slightly behind. Piye's pyramid is no longer standing. The identity of the individual buried in this pyramid is currently unknown. Reisner didn't enter this pyramid during the early 1900s because of concerns over its stability. In 2014 excavations were started on the pyramid in order to attempt to clear this pyramid and determine who it belonged to. Two rooms were cleared in the 2014 season, the third room remains uncleared at the time of this note. It should be cleared by March of 2015.
