Incorrect projection[編輯]

This projection of Alaska onto the the "lower 48" states is incorrect. The size differs enormously due to the nature of the projection which distorts the size of continents toward the north and south.

Did you read the description on the page? The projection used is the Albers equal-area conic one, which means the areas shown are proportional to the one on Earth, which serves the purpose of this map. I agree that neither the distances nor the shapes are preserved, but that's not the point here.

I apologize. For the sole purpose of comparing the area of both territories the projection used is absolutly sufficient. Orientation and distance are not that important for this map.
