Subject of image does not match file name?

I'm a little concerned that this image might not actually depict who it is supposed to be depict. I found a copy of en:The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal, and the Real Count of Monte Cristo which uses this image as the cover image, and on the back cover it says "Oil portrait by Olivier Pichat, circa 1900. This most widely known image of General Dumas is also the most curious because it clearly is not a painting of him - it is a painting of his son, the novelist (Pichat's close friend), dressed up as his father, in full military uniform on a rearing horse.". As such, it seems a little strange to use Thomas-Alexandre Dumas' dates of birth and death on the image file.

I've also made a note on the en:Thomas-Alexandre Dumas talk page concerning its use to represent that article, but I'm unfamiliar with the formalities behind this sort of thing. 2001:410:A014:72:C425:E046:657:AAA 16:53, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[返信]

Edit: Apologies, I didn't realise I was on Wikimedia as opposed to English Wikipedia. I've attempted to adjust my post to have my wiki-links work. 2001:410:A014:72:C425:E046:657:AAA 17:02, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[返信]
