General Info

[編輯]

I didn't find a map like this in SVG format, only JPeg and GIF, so I decided to upload it. SVG > GIF, because you can easily edit the map and correct errors. SVG can be scaled up without losing as much quality as GIF.

I used the categories of the old JPeg files.--Saftorangen (talk) 12:52, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[回覆]

Sources and Coloring

[編輯]

I used the English Wikipedia articles en:Union of Utrecht (Old Catholic), en:Anglican Communion and en:Porvoo Communion. It differs from File:Anglican_Communion_corrected.gif and I'm not sure where the author of that file has his sources, so I used the ones stated above. Also there is a problem with the coloring, because Sweden and Denmark seem to have two statuses:

  • Sweden has member churches in the Union of Utrecht and in the Porvoo Communion,
  • Denmark has member churches in the Union of Utrecht and is observer in the Porvoo Communion. (Will join Porvoo Communion in 2010 though?)

I hope someone can help me out here. --Saftorangen (talk) 12:54, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[回覆]

If it comes to that, the Church of England, the Church in Wales, the Scottish Episcopal Church, the Church of Ireland, the Lusitanian Church, and the Spanish Episcopal Church are in both the Anglican Communion and the Porvoo Communion. Maybe some sort of diagonal striping is called for? Anyway, the map currently shows the Republic of Ireland green (implying it's in Porvoo and not in the Anglican Communion), but shows Northern Ireland in dark blue (implying it's in the Anglican Communion and not in Porvoo), which is just weird because the Church of Ireland covers both the Republic and the North (so no matter what, the entire island should be shown the same way). There are also Anglican churches in Sweden and Denmark, as indeed there are in most Continental European countries (see Diocese of Gibraltar in Europe and w:Convocation of American Churches in Europe) —Angr 09:20, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[回覆]

Lieber "Saftorangen", es fehlt eine Beschreibung der Farb-Bedeutungen; bitte eine solche in das Bild einarbeiten! MfG G.B. 88.67.116.25 12:09, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[回覆]

The Republic of Ireland is in the Anglican Communion as part of the All-Ireland Church of Ireland and thus should be coloured dark blue as Northern Ireland is, without a doubt. On the other matters: The Diocese of Gibraltar is a funny one, there may be anglicans of those countries that go to the churches but, outside Gibraltar, they are as much, if not more, for the use by British (particularly from England and Wales) expatriates or visitors. Using Blue here would blur more with the European churches on the continent that are part of the Anglican communion already or another of the unions in communion. Regarding Utrecht and Porvoo, the green and red is used to show the areas which Anglican churches are in communion with other non-anglican (but similar) nationally organised churches. The colour used should be which ever has the more relevance to that nation/region. --Lemonade100 (talk) 19:49, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[回覆]

Church of the Province of Central Africa

[編輯]

The Church of the Province of Central Africa seems to have been omitted. Botswana, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe should also be dark blue. —Angr 09:09, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[回覆]

Some Latin American omissions

[編輯]

This map shows Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Haiti and the Dominican Republic as grey. They are all under the jurisdiction of the Episcopal Church, USA, in the same manner as Taiwan, though Taiwan is blue. Someone needs to fix that.--70.113.34.93 23:25, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[回覆]
