Hello

Just wanted a clarification - why is the confining layer colored blue ? I mean, i thought the confining layer would be made of solid stuff or clay or something like that... The blue color and the slashes kind of confuse me - it makes the confining layer look like it is also made of water

Is it just a coloring mistake or is the confining layer *really* made of some kind of water??

What am i missing here?

This figure is sourced from the USGS. The dashed pattern indicates the layer is a fine-grained sediment, such as clay. As for the blue colour, I'm guessing it indicates that these units are water bearing (however, with different hydraulic conductivities). +mt 08:44, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[回复]
