This Coat of Arms is disputed[编辑]
The coat of arms of Gelre should be:
- 1236-1339 Blue field, with golden blocks, golden lion with red tongue and nails. Like Nassau.
- 1339-1377 Blue field, golden crowned doubletaled lion with red tongue and nails
- 1543-1799 Two parts, right Guelders (with turned lion 1339-1377) left Julich, black lion, red tongue and nails.
To look the present image look authentic, it should have spreaded golden blocks on the background, the crown should be in a golden colour, the tail should be splitted in two parts. Arch (留言) 06:19, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
- According to en:Duchy of Guelders and fr:Duché de Gueldre, Guelders successively wore the following arms :
- before 1236: or, three cinquefoils gules;
- 1236-1276: azure semy de billets or, a lion also or overall;
- 1276-1393: azure, a lion or crowned of the same, armed and langued gules, the tail forked and passed in saltire (this one);
- from 1393 (with Jülich) (from 1379 according to fr.wiki): party per pale; dexter: azure a lion or contourny out of politeness, crowned of the same, armed and langued gules, the tail forked and passed in saltire; sinister: or a lion sable armed and langued gules.
nl:Hertogdom Gelre starts later but also mentions the present coat of arms, albeit for the period 1339-1377.
All three mention this coat of arms, without the billets ("blocks" as you call them) at least for 1339-1377 and possibly earlier and later. Maybe due to a change made after you created this comment section, the lion is now "crowned or" (i.e. he has a crown of gold) as well as "armed and langued azure" (he has red tongue and nails) and "the tail forked and passed in saltire" (his tail is forked with the two branches crossing each other). — Tonymec (留言) 15:52, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

This image has the hidden category SVG coats of arms of France. Now the duchy of Guelders was never in France. Originally it was (ultimately) a fief of the Holy Roman Empire, and nowadays most of its territory lies in the Netherlands. I tried to remove this spurious category but to no avail. — Tonymec (留言) 15:01, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Puisque cette image dépend du projet Blasons de fr.wiki et que le problème subsiste, je vais le redire en français avec un petit ajout :
- Comment supprimer une catégorie cachée incongrue ?
Cette image possède la catégorie cachée « SVG coats of arms of France » (soit « Blasons français en SVG »). Or le duché de Gueldre n'a jamais été en France (si ce n'est brièvement sous le Ier Empire). Pendant la plus grande partie de son existence il a dépendu (que je sache) du Lothier, des Pays-Bas bourguignons, des Pays-Bas des Habsbourg, des Provinces-Unies, et aujourd'hui du Royaume des Pays-Bas. Au mois de janvier j'ai essayé, mais sans succès, de supprimer cette catégorie incongrue. Si elle est présente intentionnellement en raison de la brève période où les actuels Pays-Bas ont été divisés en départements français, prière de me le dire ; sinon, comment l'ôter ? — Tonymec (留言) 07:33, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
Queue du lion — Tail of the lion[编辑]
Le blasonnement est en désaccord avec l'image, où le lion a la queue fourchée et passée en sautoir, ce que le texte du blasonnement ne mentionne pas.
The blazon text disagrees with the picture, where the lion has the tail forked and passed in saltire, a detail omitted in the text.
