No, this isn't Awale (aka Oware). Mancala is played on Haiti (where this photo was taken), but they play Kay or Warri, which has totally different rules. See wikimanqala.org for more information!

Ralf, if you look at the source[1] you'll see the picture is from Ivory Coast, where they DO play oware, not from Haiti . --

Ok, it's from Ivory Coast, but woman don't play Oware in Western Africa. It's a men's game. - Ralf
