- You are correct. this is the classic Aztec calender, done as mexican folk art, on cheap paper. really nice stuff. i have corrected its use globally, but i dont yet know how to rename a file on WC. as soon as i can, i will.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:58, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
After the indicated talk about the image, the name continues to be erroneous. It's not the maya calendar. I tried re-uploading the image with the correct name but Commons doesn't accept images with duplicate content, so I think that an admin should fix the name.

It's not at all clear that this image should be hosted in Commons. While the central image is a copy of the w:Aztec calendar stone, the coloration and other decorative elements are creations of the original artist. I am unaware of any principle where folk artists are deprived of copyright protection simply by virtue of being folk artists. The uploader asserts this is his own work, but I can't see he means anything by that other than that he took the photo. All his other uploads are music-related photographs.
