The Talk page for the Biltmore Estate article in the English Wikipedia references some kind of legal restriction the company controlling the estate has put on pictures of the house (or possibly only on non-historical pictures?). We should look into this; even though the statement on the image's description page here at Commons says "I, the copyright holder," there's no indication that the photo was taken by the company making the restriction, so it may well be a picture taken under the "personal use" provision of the restriction, which likely would invalidate it for Wikipedia's purposes. I'd hate to see the page stripped of the image, though. Lawikitejana 19:33, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[返信]

P.S. I did a Google search for the ".gov" domain to see if there were photos taken by U.S. government agencies, as these are permitted; however, it appears that the photos used on government sites — e.g., the National Parks Service — are copyrighted by The Biltmore Company and thus not the property of the agencies.
