Dumnonia
[编辑]Sorry, I forgot to post this here before updating the file. For the year 802 Wessex is shown way too far to the west, the Kingdom of Dumnonia was still largely untouched at this period, extending across Cornwall, Devon and parts of western Dorset and Somerset. It wasn't until 815 under Ecgberht that Wessex made any real push against Dumnonia. The map shows Dumnonia only represented as "West Wales" within its late 10th century borders as defined by Athelstan, and certainly wasn't under the control of Wessex, so this representation is extremely anachronistic. The border at the time in 802 is generally agreed to have been the Parrett-Axe line, along those two rivers. Bodrugan (留言) 10:06, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Also it should be pointed out that Dumnonia/West Wales, was a state of the Britons, not the Saxons, so should be coloured green according to the key. Bodrugan (留言) 10:21, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
