Why ≥50 and ≥250?[编辑]

@Didacticdoofus: See title. What’s the reason for using these ranges? I think it would be better to be consistent and use 50 and 500 instead, even if there currently isn’t any county between 500 and 999. 0x9fff00 (留言) 20:35, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[回复]

@0x9fff00: I thought that with six colours in the legend, those ranges gave the best overview over which counties are the hardest hit. I don't think that having consistent ranges is necessarily better, since the map is made to give a quick overview over the situation. If anyone wants to see accurate numbers we already have a graph for that. Look for example at File:COVID-19_outbreak_USA_per_capita_cases_map.svg or File:COVID-19_outbreak_Italy_per_capita_cases_map.svg, the actual numbers don't have to be consistent, as long as the map gives a good overview over the situation. Including the legend directly in the image also gives us the freedom to adapt it to the situation as it develops. If a majority of the counties pass 100 cases having three sections in the 1-100 range will of course be unnecessary, just to give an example. Didacticdoofus (留言) 21:57, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[回复]
@Didacticdoofus: Ok, that makes sense. 0x9fff00 (留言) 22:12, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[回复]

What UNIT do those numbers have ?[编辑]

I get it, it´s obviously absolute numbers. That makes the map a piece of nonsense, when the populations of the provinces vary by nearly two orders of magnitude. [1]

Even most newspapers have stopped publishing this kind of graphics weeks ago. --Maxus96 (留言) 17:05, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[回复]
