This map is interesting as it shows the England/Wales border running down the Rhymney River (i.e. the border between the ancient/geographic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouth) but the parish of Rumney had been incorporated into the county borough of Cardiff in 1938 and hence had become associated with Glamorgan. Did the OS maps of the time show borders between the ancient/geographic counties or the administrative counties? It appears from this map that they showed the former.
