I was interested in this page and the graphic, after it was used in a flat earth Youtube video. The video was claiming that the tunnel was built without any consideration of the curvature of the Earth. They used the graphic without discussing the scale, giving the impression that the effect of curvature would be huge. It's BS of course. However, looking at the scale on your diagram, I noticed it suggests that the tunnel is about 75m below the sea bed at the lowest point in the tunnel. This seems to accord with the text stating the tunnel is 75m "deep". This is not the deepest position in the sea, which is stated to be 55m. Using the scale, and also the 75m plus a bit less than 55m suggests that the lowest point in the tunnel is over 100m BELOW SEA LEVEL. But the text of the page in Wikipedia, is then confusing, as it might be taken to mean 75m below sea level, rather than 75m below the sea bed.
