Crown[编辑]

Do we know for sure that the Tudor Crown will be used during Charles' reign? Everything right now remains St. Edward's crown. I realize all kings before have use the Tudor Crown, but so many things around the Commonwealth (beyond coats of arms and cyphers) include St. Edward's crown that in the interest of saving time and money, Charles might continue the use of St. Edward's crown heraldically. Also, almost everyone living person today firmly recognizes the heraldic St. Edward's crown as a symbol of the monarchy. Changing it would only cause more confusion, something that Charles might try to avoid. Master Editor 10 (留言) 17:34, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[回复]

I agree with you completely on the confusion point, there is going to be a lot of changes. However it is up to him and not us. But it does seem likely that this will happen though. This article: Accession of King Charles III may mean new royal crests for RCMP, CAF from Canada, and others sources in UK are saying the same things. The issue is clearly being made known to the public before the actual confirmation. --Sodacan (留言) 04:54, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[回复]

@Sodacan: Why was the crown changed to the Tudor Crown? While the Tudor Crown is being used on the monogram, nothing else, including the King's coat of arms have changed from St. Edward's crown. Queen Camilla's coat of arms are drawn from King Charles's coat of arms, not his monogram. Therefore her coat of arms should use St. Edward's crown until the King's coat of arms changes to the Tudor Crown. Master Editor 10 (留言) 06:26, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]

Shape of Escutcheon[编辑]

I see you put HM's arms on a lozenge. According to the College of Arms Here, "When widowed, a woman continues to use her marital arms, but placed on a lozenge or oval." This would explain the previous Queen Consorts' arms being displayed on a lozenge, because their husbands had died. While I am no expert, might be mistaken, and we may (or may not) get confirmation from the College or the Royal Family at some point, it may be more appropriate to display on a shield. @Nikjay3203: I agree with you on this actually. I will revert and use the old version with the conventional escutcheon and the crown of St. Edward's. I may have gotten ahead of myself a little. Can always update once we have instructions from right authorities. Sodacan (留言) 19:46, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[回复]
