Problem with France

First, do not use derogatory terms for the multiplication sign, please. Second, look on the rightmost column of legend table: × means "Other conflicts". Incnis Mrsi (talk) 13:33, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

I really don't get your gripe about my calling an "x" an "x." Whether the Unicode character is for the multiplication sign or an "x," there's no way to tell without looking at the code, no reason to violate Occam's Razor (if it looks like an "x," im absence of other information it's probably an "x", and no reason to care about terminology if it turns out that the svg code has the Unicode for a multiplication sign.

Also, I got what the sign means, but I suppose I phrased the question poorly. To clarify, I wanted to know why are those two conflicts included on a map of the Cold War. On reflection I sort understand the reason for the inclusion of the Israel/Palestine conflict (the PLO weren't really communist guerillas but were supported by the Soviet Union), but I don't understand why the Troubles are included at all. —Quintucket (talk) 04:08, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

India

India was a non aligned nation but the file shows it as an ally of USSR, Indian government never uses the word "Ally" to any country and its relations with any other country instead it uses the word "Partner". - True. What is the basis of this map?. India is once of founding members of non-aligned movement in 1961. Which clearly indicates the national policy.

Legend

Looking at the legend in English it lists 'China with Albania' however reading the French and Spanish sections they translate to 'China and it's allies', while I see that China and Albania are the only ones in yellow, I'm trying to figure out if there's something I'm not getting as it should either be 'China and Albania' or 'China and it's allies'. Can't say I know too much about Chinese-Albanian relations, at that time or current, so I'm not sure if they were allied to each other or simply different from the Non-Aligned Movement, but yet together. Non-Aligned

Wouldn't it be better to use another colour than pale blue for the Non-Aligned countries ? Pale red in this map is for allies of the USSR, so pale blue looks as though it means allies of the USA. Aridd (留言) 17:13, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Major Mistakes: Kaliningrad and France

The region of Kaliningrad is disconnected from mainland USSR by a border for some reason, please fix. With the topic of France, it was indeed not a NATO member from 1966 to 2009, so this map is flawed. The fact that here, the French Republic is inside of NATO, can bring a lot of confusion and can cause a lot of school projects to be flawed, and it can even end up becoming a major problem like the Austro-Hungarian Civil Ensign being considered their historical flag now. 84.90.178.233 18:20, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
