Hi Paethon,

The description currently states: Thermobia domestica (Firebrat) - 19 Dez 2007

I'm by no means an expert,but to me it looks rather more like Ctenolepisma lineata (Four-lined Silverfish), so the question would be who ID-ed this and how certain the ID is.

Also, it would be interesting to know where it was found (Germany? Region?) and in what sort of habitat (Home, Industrial, near heat or not, humidity ...)

It was found it Tirol/Austria 660m in a common home. It wasn't near a heat source which always seemed to be odd. As I recall it a friend of mine ID-ed with a rather good Book (we are students of biology, but by no means experts with insects). As far as I remember there were some features who pointed in the direction of Firebrat. But if you would ask me now (looking at some pictures in google-images) I would also take my shot with Ctenolepisma lineata. Thanks for correcting that. Paethon 13:30, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Paethon, thanks for answering ;o) I think Ctenolepisma generally seem to be better fitted for lower temperatures and humidity etcetera than Lepisma and Thermobia. Did your book have a good section on Zygentoma and Microcoryphia (formerly known as Thysanura)?? If yes, which book is/was that? (always looking for more reliable info).
