Date of this photo

@Vmenkov Thank you for trying to correct the date of this photo all those years ago [1]. I have taken a look and believe the banner reads "XX庆祝中华人名共和国成立56周年", which refers to the 56th anniversary (=2005), not the 50th as you suggested, which should conclusively resolve the mystery of the year this photo was taken. I can't make out the first two characters. I'm going to change the description of this photo to clarify that, and I've begun updating some image captions on the English Wikipedia. It seems there was only one article on enwiki that incorrectly stated this photo was taken during the Southern Tour, rather than afterwards. I have fixed that and changed the description here, so it looks like we're all good now! Toadspike (talk) 12:27, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

The zhwiki article zh:宁明号猎潜艇 names the ship as the Ningming, as does the enwiki article en:List_of_museum_ships#China, but neither cites a source. If I can find a source on this I might add the ship's name to the description and caption. Toadspike (talk) 12:32, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
