Why doesn't this picture show any change in snow covering in the southern hemisphere? --82.46.53.168

Cape Horn (Southern tip of South America) is about 55.5 latitude south, this is as close to the South Pole as Edinburgh (Scotland, UK) is as close to the North Pole. Hence you would expect Scotland to experience the same amount of snow as Cape Horn (disregarding ocean currents).
