Crimea[编辑]

"De facto boundaries" is used not consistently trough maps of different countries.

I've just compared the following maps:

1. This one here, especially the representation of crimea in "De facto boundaries" (used in de:Kasan).

2. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Israel_in_its_region_%28pre_1967_territory%29.svg as it is used in de:Israel

3. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jammu_and_Kashmir_in_India_%28de-facto%29_%28disputed_hatched%29.svg as it is used in de:Kaschmir

Result: de:Kasan and de:Kaschmir use "De facto boundaries", although this matter is explicitely descibed only here for crimea - and only in the map file's article, not in de:Kasan itself.

de:Israel uses pre 1967 boundaries - just as the file name tells. However, a corresponding hint is also missing in the article de:Israel

So my question is: Why does Wikipedia use different standards for different countries? Why not staying consistent?

If "De facto boundaries" should be the standard, why don't you show the golan area occupied/annexed by Israel as "de facto" belonging to israel? And why not the west bank settlements i. e. about the area separated from the west bank by the "anti-palestinan wall" (forgive me if this may not be the official term)? Also labelling this (and the cashmere map) with the "De facto boundaries" template, of course! Not only in the map file but alkso in the articles using this file.

Other way round: If you show Israel in historic boundaries (perhaps because there is some reason by international law) why do you not show crimea in historic borders, too? And similar for cashmere?

And, last but not least, if there might be good reasons for treating these countries differently, these arguments should be disclosured.

My request: Same standards should be used for all countries, at least if there is no good reason for deviation from this rule, which must be given!

Why does Wikipedia use different standards for different countries? : Who is Wikipedia? There are lots of authors writing lots of articles or creating maps. It is impossible that all authors work all the same. Your request is nice but please explain how this could be done. NNW 18:07, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[回复]
