I created this detailed construction sheet because too many Canadian Flags don't look like the ones in the government drawings.
The stem on File:Flag of Canada.svg is (as of Jan 17/2019) too long and skinny; it has been that way for years. I have submitted an update candidate for File:Flag of Canada.svg that is based on the geometry shown in this construction sheet. The update candidate can be seen here: File:Flag of Canada (2019 revamp).svg.

For the doubters (and you should all be doubters), I have created a layered SVG file that can be used to simultaneously compare:

  • the image of the 1964 drawing from CAN/CGSB-98.1-2003
  • a perfect 64x64 grid
  • the government vector image from CAN/CGSB-98.1-2018 (complete with its own grid) (purple)
  • the Wikimedia SVG path taken from the current (August 26/2018) Wikimedia Flag of Canada file (red)
  • my new SVG path as it appears in File:Flag of Canada (2019 revamp).svg (green)

Central Angle fixes[編集]

The central angles look wrong. For instance, the central angle for arc A should be 103 degrees, not 77.

Thank you User:77.56.44.1 for letting me know that values for the central angles listed in the side bars were wrong. After three years and 343,646 visits to the page you are the first person to let me know.
Maybe it is not surprising given that the central angles are completely redundant and can always be calculated from the line segment angles using simple subtraction.
I have uploaded a new copy of the drawing with a new set of numbers; the new values are simply supplements of the old values. i.e. new_value = 180° − old_value. MapGrid (トーク) 01:39, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[返信]
