Please forgive me to correct you, but you are wrong. This three-star-flag was originally made for one special reason: the trilateral United Arab Republic which Egypt, Syria and Iraq agreed on 17th of April 1963. It was an attempt to restore tha 1961-broken bilateral Egypt-Syrian United Arab Republic, this time including Iraq, therefore three stars. The name of the project again was United Arab Republic, same as later bilateral Egyptian-Iraqi attempts (1964-1966) and Egyptian-Yemeni attempts 1962-1967, see here and there. All of them were plans for a restoration of an United Arab Republic, so they definitively belong into that category. --Roxanna (talk) 18:11, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[返信]

It is definitely connected with Nasserism and/or pan-Arab nationalism, but it was never actually the flag of the United Arab Republic, or of a state which belonged to the United Arab Republic (as opposed to vague speculative plans). AnonMoos (talk) 11:27, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[返信]
It was more than a vague plan although it failed soon. The federation was formally established on 17th of April 1963 (and cancelled on 22th of July) and the three-star-flag was created especially for this triparte federation. The designted name of the federation was United Arab Republic. --Roxanna (talk) 11:39, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[返信]
