CBS logo

Its not the CBS logo. It is the flagged revisions logo from MediaWiki. See the description on File:FlaggedRevs-2.png. It has been on Commons for years now. It does bare a similarity to the CBS logo but the dot is different, it has a background in the centre rather than transparency. Its probably only because of my knowing of the logo and the recent activation of flagged revs on English Wikipedia that this is again an issue. Just to add to it, the file is still today included in the flaggedrevs extension. I uploaded flagged revs to my wiki two days ago. You might want to think about that. This image, in its original rendering, was made by and is owned by the WikiMedia Foundation. Use of their software to delete an image owned by them that is used in there software is like the absolute ultimate image deletion joke, comparable to deleting the main page of Wikipedia because you were told it can't be done (which at that time could be done). There are also scores of other uses of "eye" icons/logos/pendants. CBS by no means has exclusive right. It is so damn near Public Domain-Copyright Ineligible that people also fight over that all the time too. It is not being used in any way that infringes on a trademark held by another organisation or person. If it were so, one could take it so far as to claim that each person's face is an infringement due to their having eyes.

The absurdities could continue, such as you might have noticed i said the eye icon is in the software. Its not going to go away even if you find an admin to delete it from the File namespace.

It is on every wiki in the world that has the FlaggedRevs extension installed. Public wikis, private ones, intranet wiki on corporate sites, even some wikifarm sites allow you to have FlaggedRevs. You inspired me to make it a core part of the logo of my own wiki, because it is a public domain image created and disseminated by the WikiMedia Foundation through their MediaWiki FlaggedRevs extension. delirious & lost ☯ ^~hugs~ 23:53, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
