Investigating the number of discrete frequencies or 'spectrum of frequencies over a continuous range where' frequency contents' like noise is present - is much easier understood from the correct perspective and took into the correct interpretation when displayed in collaboration with Geometrical and/or Graphic (as in x/y/z Graphs;and not graphical as in images) expressions. The visual learner and researcher is much more likely to take the information from the correct intellectual perspective and formulate an appropriate association with the topic (or at least for me);While written, numerical and alphabetical expression of the topic leaves you half with information.
