Portrait of Saladin

Hello,

This image is NOT a portrait of Saladin ! It is an image of a clock from a al-Jazari manuscript. For an unknown reason, a french book of 1912 told erroneously it is a portrait of Saladin, but it is false.

Please look at the museum notice : http://www.asia.si.edu/collections/edan/object.php?q=fsg_F1932.19 Portraits does not exist in islamic art at that time. Calame (對話) 20:08, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
