Flag Orderings[编辑]
I always thought the Ulster flag was supposed to be on the top-right / second quarter (this stuck in my mind because it matches Northern Ireland's location on the island. Is this not correct? Beano 18:15, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- The arms of the Irish government genealogical office apparently show the quarters as in this image, except with the harp and three crowns switched (Ulster still at bottom left)... AnonMoos (留言) 07:44, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Order of flags (again)[编辑]
It seems that different sports put the flags on different placements. RLIF puts the flags (from top left), Ulster, Munster, Connacht and Leinster, se here and Badminton (Ireland) puts the flags (from top left), Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht, se here. While this picture has the flags in the order (from top left) Munster, Connach, Ulster and Leinster... Is there anyone who has the opportunity to make the other "flags"? - No, no -- it was because they had some elements beyond the quarterings of the provinces, and these additional elements were considered copyrighted. It would take me a lot of effort to track down the relevant deletion discussions, since my memories are vague... AnonMoos (留言) 14:07, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- As an unofficial flag that is generally only used to avoid political issues for "All-Ireland" scenarios, the order is not fixed resulting in many variations. The most common seems to be (clockwise from top left):- Ulster, Munster, Leinster, Connacht; but I don't think it really matters. 51.9.187.2 14:39, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
Here's one of the sports flags. The SVG file has to be based on the 1925 version of the flag, because if they based it on the current version of the flag, it would probably be a copyright violation. AnonMoos (留言) 15:26, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
