2 Mong Kok and 2 University[编辑]

It is very odd that the future MTR network after merger will have to 2 Mong Kok Stations without linking together. KCR's one may change its name to "East Mong Kok". It is even extremely strange to have 2 University stations in completely different locations. MTR's one may probably change to "Shek Tong Tsui" to indicate the name of the area.

These are only speculations. In other Metro systems, it is not unusual to have two stations share the same name, like Paddington or Shepherd Bush in London Underground. Xavier114fch 16:58, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[回复]
I agree with Xavier, been to Paddington and Shepherd Bush myself. While I was in London, one can refer to the correct station by also specifying the line it is on, i.e. Paddington station on the Circle Line. For the same reason, I think, we have had two Mong Kok stations in Hong Kong for years now without having much strangeness going on here; people know they are on different train systems, KCR and MTR. No one will get confused as long as we keep the name KCR, which is more than likely. However on the other hand, this image is describing some future events, which by definition is also speculation. And while we are speculating, I have heard that they aren't going to extend the KCR line to Wong Po anymore, and there are a protest from the residents of Wong Po demanding explanations. --Drybittermelon 09:44, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[回复]

Ideas[编辑]

I really like this map! It is very informative.

I'd just like to point out some tweaks that we can make.

Lei Tung on the South Island Line (West) has been misspelt. I think the arrows on the North Island Line are ambiguous. Island Line should be completely replaced by the Tung Chung line and the Island Line. The Kwun Tong Line might be extended from Whampoa to Fortress Hill. People are speculating that a station will be built in Sai Wan Ho. Should we add it to the map? Image:Siu Sai Wan Extension.gif

Thanks for your input, and spotted the Lei Tung typo. An update is now generating and will upload shortly.
As for the Siu Sai Wan extension, this is not an officially endorsed project so I would not include into the map.-Xavier114fch (talk) 17:11, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[回复]
